major operation
1.) For noncombat operations, a reference to the relative size and scope of a military operation.
2.) A series of tactical actions (battles, engagements, strikes) conducted by combat forces of a single or several Services, coordinated in time and place, to achieve strategic or operational objectives in an operational area.
