1.) The Adaptive Planning and Execution system process involving the development of joint operation plans for contingencies identified in joint strategic planning documents.
2.) A planning process for the deployment and employment of apportioned forces and resources that occurs in response to a hypothetical situation.
In the United States, military vocabulary is standardized by the Department of Defence. These terms are used by the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
